I don't know about you, but I have had a pretty rough week. I'm feeling blue from the chilly weather and Spring seems so far away. The schools are gearing up for standardized testing next month, things are getting crazy, and everyone around me is stressed and overwhelmed. My husband and I went out to the Eastern Shore of Maryland last month to look at a couple sailboats on the market, and we both fell in love with an Ericson 32. Greg said it would be the perfect sailboat for us. We thought maybe we would be able to afford it if I got a new job that I had recently applied for. I thought I was highly qualified for the position, and I found out a couple days ago that I was not even selected for the interview process. A total bummer. We also found out that the perfect boat for us was also the perfect boat for someone else - because it is now off the market. Another bummer.
Enough of the bummers though, because as a friend pointed out to me, life is good. Life is definitely good, but it would be better if I were on a boat somewhere in the British Virgin Islands, and if money grew on palm trees. This morning my mom sent me this picture that my sister took of a tropical fruit paradise she made for my nephews. My nephews are 3 and 6, and my sister said they ate every piece off the plate. It totally cheered me up when I saw it!
Now doesn't that make you smile? Don't you wish you were there? Okay, now for the giveaway.

I wish I could say it was for a trip to a tropical paradise, but it is not! I am giving away a microplane. If you don't have a microplane in your kitchen, you need to have one. It is an awesome kitchen gadget that can finely grate cheese, zest citrus, and grate ginger. I use it on a daily basis in my kitchen. Entering the giveaway is EASY. To enter, simply leave a comment on this blog post telling me what your dream tropical paradise getaway would be (for example, mine is the British Virgin Islands). You can comment under Anonymous, but make sure to include your name at the end of your comment (first name, last initial is fine). The winner will be selected randomly and will be announced on the blog on Saturday February 23rd. Can't wait to hear about your dream vacation spot!

My dream vacation would be to a little resort in the gulf of Thailand. It had purple flowering trees that wrap around individual little huts/houses that you can stay in. There is a beautiful pool that the shallow end extends out in to the beach. You can walk right from the pool onto the beach. One of the most beautiful places I saw in Thailand, and ever since I saw it I have wanted to stay there!
ReplyDeleteKrista - that sounds amazing! I know that they must have the most delicious food in Thailand too. I hope you get to vacation at that resort sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteA hammock, an ocean breeze, a good book, and you bringing me lunch!

I have always wanted to go to Turks and Caicos. I have some friends who go there and it seriously looks and sounds like paradise.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to visit Tahiti some day and stay in those huts on stilts over the water!
ReplyDeleteI think a month in Hawaii, visiting each island and each beach. Lots of scuba diving, beach time, hiking, and fresh papayas.

I am so lucky because I actually get to live my dream vacation this summer. My fiance and I are getting married at Sandals in Antigua in July! I LOVE Sandals because it is located on the most beautiful beaches in the caribbean, everything is included, and everything is 5-star, top notch. But, if I could pick another dream location, I would love to tour the south pacific-fiji, tahiti, tonga, samoa, etc. Maybe when I get rich, lol.

I live in wonderful white Colorado -.-. I have always wanted to so to Bali, or some tropical Asian island. For me it's all about the food in those places.

All these places sound incredible! Especially since it was 23 degrees this morning!
ReplyDeleteRotuman island... My brother is currently serving there on his Fiji mission. There is no electricity and everyone lives in huts on beaches. The island is only 8 miles by 4 miles and simply beautiful. I would love to hike, swim, and sun bath here!

Alice - I have always wanted to visit Fiji too!
ReplyDeleteFiji in a house on the water, or a Mediterranean cruise Antoinette S.
ReplyDeleteCarrie N: I want to go to Bora Bora! Though I'd take the Bahamas. Or Tahiti. Heck, I dream of anything with beautiful blue waters.
ReplyDeleteCarrie - I have no idea where Bora Bora is but I want to go there too! I think I have it on my PInterest page - I repinned your pic!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to choose a dream vacation because I love to travel and dream of going everywhere. Last week I wanted to go somewhere tropical to scuba dive, surf, sun bathe and relax on the beach. The week before that I wanted to go somewhere with snow so I could ski and sip hot chocolate by a big roaring fire. The week before that I wanted to go somewhere exotic to explore ancient temples. Today though, I dream of meeting up somewhere for a family reunion with my family and all my brothers and sisters and their families. All we would have to do is chat, play games and eat. Sarah B.
ReplyDeleteAnywhere warm! Love the palm tree food pic!
